Learn how to protect your personal information, recognize red flags, and avoid falling victim to deceitful schemes.
Scammers try to create fake profiles on dating apps, social media, or will send random texts to attract victims. By using information found on social media profiles, the scammer will easily be able to attract their victim. Once the relationship has been established, the scammer will create a fictitious story that makes it seem like they need money to survive or to get out of a predicament. For example: They may request funds for travel cost and/or to pay fees to get their items through customs.
