We all have personal and account information online whether it be on shopping or banking sites. It is important to have solid defenses in place. Protect your accounts and information with strong passwords and security practices.

Create strong passwords.

Strong passwords consist of at least 12 characters, numbers, letters, symbols and avoid common words, phrases, or information in your passwords.

Create unique passwords.

Ensure you are not using the same password for multiple accounts. In the event one account is hacked, separate passwords will help to stop further access and compromise.

Use multi-factor authentication.

Multi-factor authentication requires both your password and an additional piece of information to log in which could include a code that is sent to your phone.

Consider using a reputable password manager.

Be sure to use a strong password to secure the information in your password manager.

Change passwords if impacted by a breach.

Act promptly if you become aware your account has been involved in a breach by changing your password on any account that uses the password that was impacted.

TAKE ACTION!

Review your current passwords and implement the security practices above.
